Millions of people from all over the world come to Moscow to see the capital of the first ever socialist state. We hope that during your stay in Moscow, this book will serve as a guide and good companion. The itineraries and excursions set out here are arranged in conformity with the radial and circular lay-out of the city itself. We have divided them into two groups, the first being devoted to the ancient parts of Moscow: the Kremlin, Red Square, Kitaigorod, Zamoskvorechye, the central squares, Marx Avenue and the two inner circular roads, the Boulevards and the Sadovoye. Then follow the radial main roads that run from the center of the city to the outer ring road, which marks the city boundary. Thus, a panoramic picture of Moscow will unfold before you: old town, new districts, construction sites, and zones of the past preserved, with their numerous historical and cultural relics.
